Spider veins are small, red, purple, and blue vessels that twist and turn, and can look like a tree branch or spider web. Spider veins are easily visible through the skin and mostly seen on legs and face. Spider veins develop more frequently in women and are seen more often with age.

What Causes Spider Veins?

Some factors contribute to a person who may get Spider veins. These include heredity, obesity, hormonal, contraceptive pills, hormonal replacement drugs, blood clots, occupation (standing for hours), increased pressure in the abdomen, trauma or injury to the skin, previous vein surgery and sun exposure.

Is There A Treatment For Spider Veins?

We offer some different solutions to addressing spider veins. We usually recommend a series of combined treatments, for the best possible outcome. Combined treatments of injectables, lasers, and light treatments will help to reduce and diminish the spider veins in the area. Treatments can be quick and effective with little to no downtime.

The Cutera Laser Difference

Now men and women alike are making unsightly leg veins a thing of the past, thanks to the Cutera laser. With the most advanced technology and a longer wavelength, the Cutera laser can safely and effectively treat deeper blue leg veins of all skin tones.

The Cutera laser can treat a large range of veins from tiny spider veins to deep blue reticular veins quickly, safely, and efficiently.

How Does Cutera Laser Vein Therapy Work?

The Cutera Laser pulse causes the blood within the vein to coagulate. The vessel is eventually destroyed and reabsorbed by the body.

Who can be treated?

All skin tones can be treated with Cutera laser. Our physician will advise you if this treatment is right for you.

The Cutera laser can remove unwanted veins from all parts of the body. Spider veins and large blue leg veins can also be treated with excellent results. Knotty varicose veins are not good candidates. In your complimentary consultation and careful examination, Dr. Bense will help you determine which vessel can be treated and the best treatment options.
The Cutera laser can treat blood blisters or “hemangiomas” very effectively. For port wine stains and other vascular lesions, we are finding Cutera laser is an extremely effective solution.
Often, patients find that one or two treatments are sufficient, however the number of treatments necessary depends on the number, color, and size of the vessels being treated. We will discuss this with you in your consultation. Individual results vary.
Most find that the majority of the treated veins have shown tremendous improvement in two to six weeks, however, it may take several months for full results to become evident. Over time, it is possible for new veins to appear, but these too can be removed with additional treatment.
